Bradenton, FL, September 27, 2019 – On Friday October 11, 2019, Wagner Realty will host its third annual Golf Classic at Tara Golf and Country Club. The Golf Classic has raised vital funds for the Bradenton Police Department's Bradenton Blue Foundation, a non-profit created to support officers and our community with funds for specialty training, technology, safety equipment and community outreach.
"This has become such an important community event," notes David Eckel, Wagner Realty's President and owner, adding "supporting our local law enforcement is so important. The Golf Classic is a wonderful opportunity for like-minded people to enjoy a great day on a premiere golf course, all to benefit our men and women in blue and the greater Manatee community."
Proceeds from the Wagner Realty Golf Classic have helped the Bradenton Police Department make incredible strides in our community. "The funds from the Golf Classic enhance everything from school safety with purchases of gun safes, ballistic gear, and entry tools for School Resource Officers, to assistance in funding for two new K-9 police dogs, trained in apprehension and narcotics detection" notes Rose Hedberg, Administrative Coordinator for the Bradenton Police Department. The Golf Classic funding has also helped the department purchase new lightweight high mobility vest plates for the SWAT Team, so they can work with increased stamina without sacrificing protection.
Funding also supports "Honoring the Badge" and other holiday events that allow officers to donate gift cards, food, and toys for underserved families. "These events are incredibly important. They give kids in need a happy Christmas and enhance the bonds between law enforcement and citizens." Rose adds, "I have to say, no one puts together a better golf tournament than Wagner's Natalie Russell. She's created a world class event, right here in Bradenton, and we're so glad to be a beneficiary from these efforts."
More than 70 businesses are supporting the Golf Classic through sponsorships and/or donated auction items. "The generosity, time and effort of everyone involved, is just incredible," notes Natalie Russell, event organizer and company Operations Manager.
