Earth Day Events Sarasota and Manatee County

  1. Sarasota Earth Day Celebration | Oscar Scherer State Park – 1843 S. Tamiami Trail, Osprey, FL 34229 | April 27
    This annual tradition allows visitors to enter Oscar Scherer State Park for free to celebrate their Earth Day events. Attendees can visit vendor booths, enjoy live music and sample delicious food. Volunteers can help place over 5,000 plants along the restored wetland area. Close to Venice and Siesta Key homes for sale, the Sarasota Earth Day Celebration is a great way to keep this beautiful state park clean and safe for the diverse wildlife that calls it home.

  2. NAWP Earth Day Garden Party | Longboat Key Club, 220 Sands Point Rd, Longboat Key, Florida 34228 | April 22
    The National Association of Wedding Professionals (NAWP) -  Gulf Coast Chapter will host its 2019 Earth Day Garden Party at The Resort at Longboat Key Club on April 22 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.  NAWP invites attendees to celebrate the plants and to hear chef/owner of Zildjian Catering, Alyson Zildjian, speak about eco-friendly events.   3. Earth Day Celebration at The Market at Lakewood Ranch | 8201 Polo Club Lane, Sarasota, FL 34240 | April 24
    Come enjoy live music at The Market! Activities include Sunset Yoga from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm, and a family-friendly series of yard games, along with creating your own nature bug!  If you can't make it for the Earth Day Celebration,  The Market at Lakewood Ranch is open every Wednesday afternoon and evening from December through April, from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm.   4. Englewood Earth Day Festival | Boca Grande, FL 33921 | April 28
    The Barrier Island Parks Society is planning yet another Earth Day Celebration in Englewood. This free festival of food and fun features opportunities to learn about the environmental work local non-profits are conducting. Be sure to visit the Barrier Island Parks Society website for updated information. Consider joining them on the Sunday after Earth Day.   5. Earth Day Festival at Selby Five Points Park in downtown Sarasota | Monday, April 22, from 11:30 am - 1:30 pm
    The City of Sarasota and UF/IFAS Extension Sarasota County will host an Earth Day Festival on Monday, April 22, from 11:30 am -1:30 pm at Selby Five Points Park in downtown Sarasota. The event will feature information booths throughout the park on a variety of environmental issues, including energy efficiency, stormwater pollution, composting, native plants, electric vehicles and more. Food will be available for purchase from the Spice Boys food truck. Visitors will have a chance to tour two tiny homes, pick up free bicycle gear, try an e-scooter, learn about plastic pollution and how to turn single-use plastics into reusable items, hear more about Sarasota in Motion, the city's transportation master plan, and learn why putting fats, oils and greases down the kitchen drain is so bad. In recognition of Arbor Day and the City of Sarasota's celebration of 33 years of being designated as a "Tree City USA" by the Arbor Day Foundation, some attendees will also be able to take home free native plants and trees available at the festival.
